Reclaimed Timber Cube Bedside Table
A two-tier cube in reclaimed Derbyshire timber on UK-forged steel, H60 x W40 x L40cm. The 60cm height is the useful part: most divan and upholstered beds put the top of the mattress between 55cm and 65cm, so a lamp, a glass of water and a book sit at hand rather than down at knee level, where a standard 45cm side table leaves them. Buy it as a pair and you have both sides of the bed done.
It works equally well beside a sofa or an armchair, where the lower shelf takes the magazines and remotes that otherwise end up on the top one. The open cube construction means nothing is hidden behind a door, which for a small piece of furniture is usually an advantage.
The timber is salvaged from Derbyshire mills as they come down, then denailed, planed and jointed by hand in our workshop nearby. Nail holes, saw marks and colour variation are original to the boards.
