Reclaimed Wood Bookcases & Shelving

Bookcases and Shelving in Reclaimed Timber

Most shelving under Β£400 is particleboard, veneer or "oak effect", and on a website it photographs much the same as the real thing. The difference shows at the shelf edge, in how much weight a span carries before it bows, and in how it looks in ten years. Every shelf here was once a floorboard or a beam in a Derbyshire mill.

Narrow or wide

The Tall Narrow Shelving Unit is 180cm tall and 44cm wide with five shelves β€” the one for an alcove, a landing or the gap beside a chimney breast. The Tall Shelving Unit is the same height and 34cm deep, in 80cm, 100cm or 120cm widths, designed to sit against a run of open wall. Both use 20mm reclaimed timber shelves on a hand-forged UK steel frame, in raw clear lacquer or powder-coated black, with four wood colours.

Made to fit

Alcoves are rarely a standard width. Tell us the gap and we will make the unit to fit it β€” ask for a bespoke quotation. Everything is made to order in our Derbyshire workshop and delivered free to UK mainland addresses by a two-person team.
