Beautiful Yew Live Edge Console Table

This Yew timber was felled and sourced locally in Wirksworth, Derbyshire 5 years ago following a storm in a locals back garden!
Yew wood is known for its distinctive grain patterns, with white sap and purple spots. It's also a hardwood so very durable. This particular piece also carries 'pippy' areas which is extremely sought after for the unique character.

Assembly required (screw legs into pre drilled holes).
Top: solid hardwood, glued up into a full two-metre circle, stained to a warm walnut colour and finished with a hard-wearing varnish that wipes clean. At the centre, a 73cm disc of 10mm toughened smoked glass sits flush in a rebate in the timber, so plates and glasses sit level across it.
Base: ribbed steel rebar β the reinforcing bar that goes inside concrete β cut, bent and welded into the twist by hand, then clear-coated to keep the dark mill finish and rolled texture of the steel. No two bars are the same and the base isn't symmetrical; that's the point of it.
Care: wipe the top with a damp cloth and dry it; use mats under hot dishes. Clean the glass with ordinary glass cleaner. The steel just needs a dust β the clear coat protects it indoors.

The feet stop about 33cm short of the edge of the top all the way round. For chairs to pull out comfortably, allow roughly 90cm of clear floor beyond the edge of the table β so a room around 3.8m across shows it off best.
This table is a one-off β when it's gone, it's gone. But if you love the idea and need it at a different size, on a rectangular top, or in another timber, we can make something in the same spirit for you in our Derbyshire workshop.

Covered by our 15 Year Warranty against manufacturing faults, from the date of purchase. We make everything ourselves in Derbyshire β nothing is imported or outsourced β which is why we can stand behind it for so long.

- Covers domestic use by the original purchaser. Normal wear such as scratches, dents and marks, and the natural seasonal movement of solid wood, aren't faults and aren't covered. Full terms.
In stock and ready to go. Delivery is free to the UK mainland (excluding the Highlands and offshore islands) by a 3-man white-glove team. We'll call you to book a day, then the team carries the top and base into the room you choose and puts the table together for you.
Will it fit? The top lifts off the base for delivery. The base is 133cm across the feet and weighs around 80β100kg; if a doorway is narrower than that, the team can tilt it on its side to get it through. If there are steps, stairs or tight turns on the way in, please get in touch before ordering and we'll check access with you.
Returns: if you wish to return it, contact us within 15 days of delivery. We'll arrange collection from the delivery address; because of the size and weight there is a collection charge for unwanted items that aren't faulty or damaged.
