Reclaimed Timber TV Stand with Two Soft-Close Drawers
A TV stand built from 40mm reclaimed Derbyshire timber on UK-forged steel supports, with two soft-close drawers. L150 x W45 x H50cm β a 65-inch television measures roughly 145cm across, so it sits on this with a little either side. The drawers hold the things that otherwise live on top of a TV unit: remotes, controllers, cables, the instruction booklets nobody throws away.
The drawer runners are soft-close and the handles are made in our own workshop rather than bought in, which is the difference between a piece that still shuts properly in fifteen years and one that does not. The timber is 40mm thick, salvaged from mills levelled in Derbyshire and planed back by hand a few miles away.
Four wood colours and a choice of black or clear-lacquered steel. Because the boards are reclaimed, colour and marking vary from unit to unit β the nail holes and saw marks are a century of use rather than a distressing treatment.
